Greer Notches a Goal in Overtime Setback at NKU
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Appalachian State University women's soccer (0-3-1) forced overtime after trailing 1-0, but would later fall 2-1 to Northern Kentucky (3-1) on Tuesday evening at NKU Soccer Stadium.

App State held the advantage in shots, 11-9, but the final one Northern Kentucky fired on was the difference. Ally Perkins gave the hosts the win at 94:37 when she shot a free kick and deflected off one of the other athletes for the win.

However, the Mountaineers showed some grit in their second-straight overtime match in three days. When facing a 1-0 deficit late in the second frame and nearing just under three minutes left in the match, Emmily Cowie found Kat Greer on a cross from the left side the box to tie up the match against the reigning Horizon League champions.

Lindsey Tully and Sarah Peatross each had a shot on the target and Kristin Brown recorded a shot on goal as well. Sam Steyl notched her Xth start of the season between the frames, putting in all 95 minutes of work. Steyl registered a season-high three saves.

Appalachian will return to action on Friday against UNC Greensboro at 7:30 p.m.
