Little Rock 69, Louisiana Tech 58
RUSTON, La. – Guided by a career-high 31 points from junior guard Kyra Collier, the Little Rock Trojans (1-0, 0-0) took down the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters (1-1,0-0) 69-58 Friday afternoon. The win was the Trojan's first ever in the Thomas Assembly Center. Little Rock is now 18-12 all-time in season openers and 46-37 when playing in the state of Louisiana.

Collier got off to a hot start, scoring the Troajn's first four points and would tally 12 points at the halftime break, 10 of them coming in the first quarter. Little Rock would hold a 35-22 advantage headed into the locker room.

SMU 49, ULM 38
Dallas, Texas – The ULM women's basketball team rallied from an early deficit to pull as close as two points, but SMU slowly built its lead in the second half and picked up a 49-38 season opening win over the Warhawks.

UAB 80, Appalachian State 61
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Appalachian State University women's basketball (0-1) suffered an 80-61 setback at UAB (1-0) in the season opener on Friday evening in Bartow Arena.

Making her first start in a Mountaineer uniform, Ashley Polacek didn't disappoint as she scored 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor and grabbed six rebounds. Tierra Wilson tied for the team lead with 15 off the bench, while Lainey Gosnell rounded out the leading scorers with 11 points and collected six off the glass. Bayley Plummer amassed 10 off the glass for a game high.

Oklahoma State 62, Arkansas State 60
STILLWATER, Okla. (11/9/18) – The Arkansas State women’s basketball team nearly erased a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter as Oklahoma State defeated the Red Wolves 62-60 at Gallagher-Iba Arena in the regular season opener for both team on Friday.

The Cowgirls led 54-38 with 5:15 to go in the game, but a 9-0 run from A-State cut the lead to 54-47 over the next two and a half minutes. The Red Wolves worked the deficit down to 61-60 after Jordan Elder was fouled on a 3-point attempt and made all three free throws with six seconds to go.

New Mexico 82, Texas State 51
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Texas State women's basketball team (0-1) opened the 2018-19 campaign with an 82-51 setback against the New Mexico Lobos (1-0) Friday evening at Dreamstyle Arena.

Senior guard Toshua Leavitt was the lone Bobcat to reach double-figure scoring. She posted a team-best 18 points on 5-of-16 shooting from the floor. Leavitt connected on 2-of-5 shots from distance and converted all six free throw attempts. She also tallied three assists and one steal.
