Coastal Carolina 126, NC Wesleyan 65
CONWAY – Junior guard Caitlin Roche scored a career high 24 points to lead six players in double figures as Coastal Carolina rolled to a 126-65 win over North Carolina Wesleyan Saturday.

With the win the Chants improve to 7-1 and are off to their best season start since 2007-08 when Coastal also won seven of its first eight games. Saturday's win was also Coastal's ninth straight at home, bringing the streak one game away of the program record of 10 consecutive home wins.

Sam Houston State 68, Louisiana 62
LAFAYETTE – A fourth quarter charge by Louisiana Women's Basketball (2-6, 0-0 SBC) was not enough to overtake the Sam Houston State Bearkats (5-3, 0-0 SLC) as the Ragin' Cajuns fell 68-62, Saturday afternoon at the CAJUNDOME.

Freshman guard Brandi Williams finished with a team-high 14 points on 4-for-10 shooting, scoring nine points in the fourth quarter to help Louisiana crawl back into the game, while sophomore guard Skyler Goodwin added 13 points on 6-for-16 shooting to give Louisiana two scorers in double-digits. Redshirt-freshman forward Kristen Daniels and junior forward Kendall Bess made their Louisiana debuts in the game, with Daniels making an impact every time she was on the court.

Kansas State 53, Little Rock 47
LITTLE ROCK – The Kansas State Wildcats (7-2) wiggled past the Little Rock Trojans (2-6) 53-47 Saturday afternoon in the first game of the day's double feature.

The Trojans got off to a rocky start, trailing 18-2 in the first quarter, but would mount a comeback starting in the second quarter, cutting the lead to 11, 32-20, at halftime.

South ALabama 77, Alabama State 65
MOBILE, Ala. - The University of South Alabama women's basketball team improved to 8-0 with a 77-65 non-conference home victory over Alabama State on Sunday afternoon at the Mitchell Center. After an electric start to the game that saw the Jags head into halftime with a 17-point lead, the Lady Hornets battled back and trailed by only two at the end of the third. The Jags didn't flinch in the face of adversity and out-shot Alabama State 27-17 in the fourth, to seal up the win.

South held on and took control in the fourth thanks in large part to the reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week, Antoinette Lewis. Lewis shot 6-6 from the floor and 7-13 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, turning in 19 of her 21 points in the final quarter of action. The sophomore forward from Memphis Tenn., finished with a team-high 21 points and brought in five rebounds.
