FOLEY, Ala. - Arkansas State's Hailey Furio scored on a free kick from the top of the box in the match's 88th minute and the third-seeded Red Wolves advanced to the Sun Belt Women's Soccer Championship match with a 1-0 victory over seventh-seeded Louisiana on Friday.
A-State is heading to the Sun Belt final for the first time in program history as they improve to 10-5-4 on the season. Louisiana, playing in its first Sun Belt women's soccer semifinal, ends its historic season under first-year head coach, Lance Key, with a 9-8-3 record overall.
The Red Wolves head into Sunday's 1 p.m. CT Championship having won or tied six of their last seven matches.
A-State finished with a 13-9 advantage in shots, nine of which were on goal. Megan McClure earned the win in goal for the Red Wolves, earning her ninth shutout on the season, tying her with South Alabama's Justice Stanford for the league lead. McClure had five saves on the night.
