ARLINGTON, Texas - Ronjanae DeGray made two free throws with 10 seconds remaining on the Trojans' final possession to give her team a gutsy 62-61 win over UT Arlington.
Ro. DeGray notched her seventh double-double of her career with a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Kyra Collier played all 40 minutes and tallied 16 points on the night. Tori Lasker was excellent all night as she hit three three-pointers to grab 16 points of her own.
South Alabama 73, Georgia Southern 60
MOBILE, Ala. - The University of South Alabama women's basketball team improved to 18-5 (7-5 SBC) with a 73-60 victory over the Georgia Southern Eagles on Thursday night at the Mitchell Center.
While the Jaguars maintained a steady lead for the majority of the game, Georgia Southern held it close until the fourth quarter. In fact, Alexis Brown hit a three-pointer for the Eagles at the start of the fourth to give her team a 45-44 advantage. The Jaguars took back their lead on the next possession as Antoinette Lewis layed one in for two to spark a 13-3 run for South, which took the game out of Georgia Southern's reach.
Texas State 68, Arkansas State 54
SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's basketball team (10-14, 5-7 Sun Belt) defeated the Arkansas State Red Wolves (9-14, 4-8 Sun Belt) by a score of 68-54 behind four players in double figures on Thursday night at Strahan Arena.
The victory snapped a season-worst five-game skid and gave the Bobcats a home victory for the first time since topping Coastal Carolina on Jan. 10.
Georgia State 85, Troy 70
TROY, Ala. – Georgia State pushed its win streak to four with an 85-70 win over Troy at Trojan Arena Saturday evening.
Entering the day, Georgia State sat in fourth in the Sun Belt standings, one game behind the third-place Trojans. With the win, GSU (14-9, 8-4 SBC) and Troy (17-6, 8-4 SBC) are tied for third with the Panthers owning the tiebreaker due to their regular season sweep over the Trojans.
