Georgia Southern Paces Field Following Round 1 at SBC Men's Golf Championship

EL DORADO, Ark. – (Round 1 ResultsRound 2 Pairings) With its top four players shooting 3-over par or better, Georgia Southern paces the 12-team field at the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Golf Championship. 

The Eagles posted a score of 5-over par 293 to top the team leaderboard after Round 1 at the par-72, 7,293-yard Mystic Creek Golf Club. 
 
ULM sits in second place—two strokes back of Georgia Southern—after a 7-over par 295 opening round effort. Little Rock will join the Eagles and Warhawks in Monday’s top pairing after shooting 10-over par 298. 
 
ULM freshman Mikkel Schmitt carded a Mystic Creek tournament golf record 6-under par 66 to pace the 60-player field, while Little Rock fifth-year senior Logan Pate shot 1-under par 71 to sit in second place individually.

Arkansas State (+14, 302), App State (+17, 305), UTA (+17, 305), Coastal Carolina (+18, 306), Louisiana (+24, 312), Texas State (+26, 314), South Alabama (+29, 317), Georgia State (+29, 317) and Troy (+29, 317) round out the conference championship field. 
 
The second round of stroke play begins at 8:30 a.m. CT on Monday and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and live scored via Golfstat.
