Round 3 Pairings) Little Rock carded a 13-over par 301 to erase a five-shot deficit and take a two-stroke lead (+23, 599) during Round 2 of the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Golf Championship.
Fifth-year senior Logan Pate turned in a 2-over par 74 to take the individual lead (+1, 145) at the par-72, 7,293-yard Mystic Creek Golf Club. Three players—App State junior Timothius Tamardi, Georgia Southern junior Ben Carr and UTA sophomore Daniel Cronje—sit two strokes back of Pate at 3-over par 147.
Georgia Southern shot 20-over par 308 as a team in Round 2 to sit in second place (+25, 601), while UTA posted a 14-over par 302 to vault into Tuesday’s top pairing (+31, 607).
App State (+32, 608) and ULM (+32, 608) are tied for the all-important fourth position—the last qualifying spot for Wednesday’s match play semifinals—heading into the final round of stroke play.
Arkansas State (+35, 611), Coastal Carolina (+36, 612), Louisiana (+45, 621), Texas State (+51, 627), Troy (+51, 627), South Alabama (+56, 632) and Georgia State (+56, 632) round out the conference championship field.
The third and final round of stroke play begins at 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and live scored via Golfstat.
