NEW ORLEANS — Little Rock’s Anton Albers and Georgia Southern’s Ben Carr and Mason Williams were named to the
2022 Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Division I PING All-Region Teams.
Albers posted a 70.97 scoring average across 30 rounds. The Buccholz, Germany, native averaged 0.73 strokes under par, while helping the Trojans secure this year’s Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship title. The Sun Belt Men’s Golfer of the Year concluded the season as the No. 40 ranked player in NCAA Division I.
Carr compiled a 70.81 scoring average over 36 rounds. The Columbus, Ga., product averaged 0.36 strokes under par, while helping the Eagles advance to the NCAA final site for the second time in three events. Carr finished the season as the No. 49 ranked player in NCAA Division I.
Williams amassed a 71.18 scoring average over 28 rounds. The Bridgeport, W.Va., native averaged 0.11 strokes under par, as part of the Georgia Southern squad that advanced to the NCAA final site. Williams was the lone Eagle to advance to the final round, tying for 20th overall at the NCAA championship. He concluded the year as the No. 48 ranked player in NCAA Division I.
Albers, Carr and Williams were each recognized as First Team All-Sun Belt selections in 2022.
Sun Belt champion Little Rock and Georgia Southern earned NCAA postseason bids, with the Eagles giving the conference representation at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship final site for the third-straight season.
