Round 3 Pairings
MADISON, Miss. – Four Georgia Southern golfers shot better than par on Tuesday and the Eagles carded an eight-under-par 280 as a team to surge into first place at the 2023 Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship following 36 holes of stroke play at Annandale Golf Club.
Georgia Southern has totaled a three-under-par two-round total of 573 (293-280) to lead the tournament field by five strokes entering the final round of stroke play. Louisiana is in second with a two-over-par 578 (288-290) and Troy is third with a four-over-par 580 (284-296). Three teams – South Alabama, Southern Miss and Texas State are tied for fourth with five-over-par 581s.
Troy sophomore Brantley Scott shot a one-under-par 71 on the day to remain the Sun Belt individual leader. For the tournament, he is at six-under-par (67-71=138). Coastal Carolina’s Seth Taylor is one shot back at five-under-par (71-68=139). Georgia Southern’s Ben Carr and Mason Williams, and Louisiana’s Eli Ortego are all tied for third individually at three-under-par. Arkansas State’s Luka Naglic had the low round of the day with a five-under-par 67.
The final round of stroke play begins at 8:30 a.m. CT Wednesday. The top-four teams following stroke play will advance to Thursday’s match play semifinals.
