South Alabama’s Myles Corey Tabbed Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – South Alabama graduate guard Myles Corey has been named Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Jaguars to a pair of non-conference victories during the fourth week of the regular season.
 
Corey is South Alabama’s first Sun Belt Player of the Week honoree since Samuel Tabe on Feb. 27, 2024.
 
Corey fueled the Jags’ offense throughout three home contests, averaging 20.3 points, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 58 percent from the field and 43 percent from 3-point range.
 
An Ontario, Calif., native, Corey scored 19 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field, including 3-for-5 beyond the arc, with four assists and three steals in an 84-63 win over Incarnate Word in the first game of the Jaguar Classic on Nov. 25. He followed up that performance with 17 points against Western Illinois in game two of the tournament before closing out the weekend with 25 points including four triples, three steals, two rebounds, an assist, and a block in a 74-65 overtime victory against Alcorn State on Nov. 29.
