Sun Belt Men's Golf Championship Tees Off Monday at Annandale Golf Club

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | ROUND 1 PAIRINGS

MADISON, Miss. – The 14 Sun Belt men’s golf programs will compete in the 2024 Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship from Monday, April 22, to Thursday, April 25, at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss. 
 
The tournament will be the second-straight held on the par-72, 7,190-yard course. The teams will tee off from split tees, beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT, with six teams teeing off on No. 1 and eight teams starting on No. 10. 
 
The top four teams from the 54-hole stroke play portion of the event will advance to match play on Thursday, April 25. The semifinal matches will tee off beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT—with the No. 4 seed and the No. 1 seed on No. 1 and the No. 3 seed and the No. 2 seed on No. 10. The championship match will tee off from No. 1 following the conclusion of the semifinal matches. 
 
Louisiana is the event’s reigning champion, having won the 2023 Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship with a 3-2-0 victory over Georgia Southern in the championship match. The Eagles were the No. 1 seed entering match play and swept No. 4-seeded Troy, 5-0-0, to advance to the championship final. The No. 3-seeded Ragin’ Cajuns took down No. 2-seeded South Alabama, 3-2-0, in their semifinal match. 
 
Georgia Southern (284.7) carries the top adjusted scoring average in the conference into this year’s championship and is 1-of-7 teams with a tournament win on the season, alongside Arkansas State, Georgia State, James Madison, Louisiana, Southern Miss and Texas State. 
 
Georgia Southern (No. 82) and Texas State (No. 96) are each listed among the Top 100 teams nationally in the latest SCOREBOARD NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Rankings. Seven Sun Belt golfers are also ranked among the Top 300 individuals—Thomas Schmidt of Arkansas State (No. 232), Melan Dhaubhadel of ULM (No. 267), Reece Coleman of Georgia Southern (No. 270), Brycen Jones of Georgia Southern (No. 272), Sakke Siltala of Texas State (No. 279), Seth Taylor of Coastal Carolina (No. 289) and Hugo Thyr of South Alabama (No. 297). 
 
Thyr is the reigning Sun Belt individual champion, after finishing 8-under par 208 (68-74-66—208) during the 54 holes of stroke play a year ago. 
 
Also returning to this year’s field are 2023 All-Sun Belt First Team selections Taylor of Coastal Carolina and Brantley Scott of Troy; 2023 All-Sun Belt Second Team picks Malan Potgieter of Louisiana, Parker Claxton of Georgia Southern and Ryan Dupuy of Southern Miss; and 2023 All-Sun Belt Third Team honorees Thyr of South Alabama, Tyler Jones of Marshall, Schmidt of Arkansas State, Robbie Latter of Southern Miss, Daniel Cheng of James Madison and Kasper Nyland of Texas State. 

South Alabama paces all current Sun Belt men’s golf programs with 10 all-time team championships, while Louisiana (4), Georgia Southern (2), Troy (2), Arkansas State (1), Coastal Carolina (1) and Georgia State (1) also claim Sun Belt titles. 

All three rounds of stroke play, along with Thursday’s semifinal and championship matches, will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and live scored via Golfstat.
