Marshall's Blevins & Louisiana's DeBarge Earn Sun Belt Baseball Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Marshall’s Bryce Blevins and Louisiana’s Kyle DeBarge earned the Sun Belt weekly honors, presented by BankPlus, following key contributions to conference series wins. 
 
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Bryce Blevins, Marshall
(So., LHP – Louisa, Ky.)    
 
Thundering Herd sophomore left-handed pitcher Bryce Blevins hurled a complete game shutout in a 5-0 series-clinching victory over Texas State. The Louisa, Ky., product conceded just four hits and one walk, while striking out six in the nine-inning performance. Blevins’ effort—in which he held Bobcat batters to a .133 batting average—was the first complete game shutout by a Marshall pitcher since 2018. 

Baseball Player of the Week
Kyle DeBarge, Louisiana
(Jr., SS – Kinder, La.)    
 
Ragin’ Cajuns junior shortstop Kyle DeBarge hit .467 (7-for-15) and slugged 1.333 to help Louisiana extend its national-best winning streak to 15 games with a 4-0 week. The Kinder, La., native tallied a double, two stolen bases, three home runs, six runs scored and six RBI. DeBarge led Louisiana to a three-game sweep of in-state rival ULM to run the Ragin’ Cajuns Sun Belt winning streak to 11 games and keep them perched atop the conference standings.
