NEW ORLEANS – Following standout performances, Texas State’s Jordan McCloud, Old Dominion’s Jahron Manning and Arkansas State’s Courtney Jackson claimed the Sun Belt football weekly accolades.
Football Offensive Player of the Week
Jordan McCloud, Texas State
(RS Sr., QB – Tampa, Fla.)
Bobcats redshirt senior quarterback Jordan McCloud accounted for four touchdowns, as Texas State secured its first-ever victory over in-state rival UTSA in the I-35 Showdown, 49-10, in front of a sellout crowd of 28,000 fans at UFCU Stadium. The Tampa, Fla., native completed 18-of-27 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns. McCloud also ran for 30 yards and two scores in the ground game. The performance was McCloud’s first 300-yard passing game and four-touchdown outing in a Texas State uniform.
Football Defensive Player of the Week
Jahron Manning, Old Dominion
(Jr., DB – New Orleans, La.)
Monarchs junior defensive back Jahron Manning led a defensive unit that set the program single-game record with four interceptions in a 20-14 loss to East Carolina. The New Orleans, La., product hauled in his first two career interceptions and added a career-high 10 tackles and a tackle for loss. Manning returned his first interception 45 yards to set up an Old Dominion touchdown and halted an East Carolina drive with his second pick in the end zone. Manning is the first Monarch to card a multi-interception game since 2014.
Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Courtney Jackson, Arkansas State
(RS Sr., RS – Monroeville, Pa.)
Red Wolves redshirt senior wide receiver and return specialist Courtney Jackson helped spark an Arkansas State second-half comeback with a 77-yard punt return touchdown. The return helped the Red Wolves erase 17-7 halftime deficit in an eventual 28-24 win over Tulsa. The Monroeville, Pa., native also caught three passes for 20 yards on offense. Jackson’s punt return touchdown—his second over his last four games played dating back to 2023—was the longest for an Arkansas State player since Kevin Jones’ 89-yard effort against Memphis in 2007.
