App State at Marshall Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Matchup Elevated to ESPN2/ESPNU Broadcast

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference, in conjunction with ESPN, announced that the Friday, February 28 men’s basketball matchup between App State and Marshall will be broadcast on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT at the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington, W.Va.

The contest will be the Sun Belt’s fourth wildcard appearance on the ESPN Family of Networks during the 2025 league season.

The game will mark the second regular season matchup and 56th all-time meeting between Marshall and App State. The Thundering Herd leads the all-time series, 34-20, but the Mountaineers swept the regular season series one year ago. The teams will play for the first time this season six days prior on Saturday, February 22 in Boone, N.C.

As part of the Sun Belt’s comprehensive media rights partnership with ESPN, which runs through the 2030-31 academic year, the Worldwide Leader in Sports will also broadcast the championship games of the Sun Belt Men’s & Women’s Basketball Championships on Monday, March 10. The men’s basketball championship game will air at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT on ESPN or ESPN2.
