Troy Earns No. 14 Seed in 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament

Troy learned it will be the No. 14 seed in the Midwest Region of the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, as announced during the NCAA’s selection show Sunday evening.
 
The Trojans will take on the Midwest Region’s No. 3 seed, Kentucky (22-11) on Friday, March 21 at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisc.
 
Troy will compete in its third NCAA Tournament in program history and first since 2017. The Trojans’ first appearance occurred in 2003.
 
Troy owns a 23-10 overall record this season and was one of four teams to be named Sun Belt regular season co-champions with a 13-5 mark in conference play. As the No. 3 seed in the league’s tournament, the Trojans won the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championship by defeating Old Dominion, James Madison and Arkansas State in consecutive days – and all by double digits – to secure the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
 
The Trojans are led by senior guard Tayton Conerway who was named 2025 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and Sun Belt Championship Most Outstanding Player. Conerway leads the team with 14.3 points per game and ranks third nationally in total steals (97) and steals per game (2.94) this season.
 
Troy sophomore forward Myles Rigsby also averages double-digit scoring (12.0), as junior forward Thomas Dowd earned 2025 Sun Belt All-Tournament Team honors and averages 9.9 points and a team-leading 6.8 rebounds per contest.
