Troy Advances to WNIT Fab 4

NEW ORLEANS – For the second consecutive game, Troy women’s basketball survived and advanced in overtime, defeating North Dakota State 16-7 to advance into a second straight WNIT Fab 4.

This will be the Trojans second straight WNIT Fab 4 appearance. Troy now goes to Illinois State for a chance at the WNIT Championship on Wednesday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m.

Five Trojans scored in double-figures, led by a career-high 22-point performance from Briana Peguero. Shaulana Wagner had 18 points and four assists, while Zay Dyer and Briana Jackson had 14 and Fortuna Ngnawo with 11.

Through their three WNIT games, five Trojans have finished with 10-plus points in each game, with the team averaging 90 points per game. Dyer has continued her stellar season with 18.3 points and 10.7 rebounds in the WNIT, while Wagner's is averaging 15.3 points, 7.3 assists.

The meeting with Illinois State in the WNIT Fab 4 will be the first time the two programs have met.
