Arkansas State Paces the Field at 2025 Sun Belt Men's Golf Championship

MADISON, Miss. – Following a suspension of play on Monday evening, Arkansas State paces the 14-team field after the first round at the 2025 Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship. 

Due to multiple weather delays only six of the 14 teams were able to finish the first round on Monday, with the remainder of the teams finishing the first roun early Tuesday morning.
 
The Red Wolves posted a score of 10-under par (278) to top the team leaderboard after the first round at the par-72, 7,157-yard Annandale Golf Club. 
 
Coastal Carolina sits in second place— seven strokes back of Arkansas State—after a three-under par opening-round effort. James Madison, Louisiana and Troy sit in a three-way tie at two-under through the first round.  
 
Arkansas State junior Thomas Schmidt recorded eight birdies and an eagle in the first round to pace the field with a 64. His 64 is the lowest score a player has posted in the three years the tournament has been held at Annandale Golf Club. 

The second round of stroke play begins at 10:00 a.m. CT on Tuesday and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and live scored on Scoreboard.
