MADISON,
Miss. – Coastal Carolina, Arkansas State, Georgia Southern and Troy advanced to match play following 54 holes of stroke play at the 2025 Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship at Annandale Golf Club.
The Chants earned the No. 1 seed with a score of 14-under par 850 as a team and will take on No. 4 seed Troy (858, -6) in semifinal action beginning on hole No. 1 at 7:30 a.m. CT Thursday.
Arkansas State earned the two seed with a score of 13-under par 851 as a team and will face three-seeded Georgia Southern who had a team card of 8-under par 856. They will tee off of hole No. 10 7:30 a.m. CT.
For the second year in a row the individual champion would come down to a playoff. Arkansas State’s Jack Maxey and Louisiana’s Eli Ortego both went 70-69-71 to tie at 6-under par after three rounds of stroke play.
Starting on No. 18 both shot par on the first two holes of the playoff. Returning to No. 18 for their third hole, Maxey would secure the individual champion title. This is Arkansas State's first individual champion since 1997.
Filling out the field was James Madison (862, -2), Texas State (863, -1), Louisiana (864, E), Southern Miss (868, +4), South Alabama (871, +7), Marshall (878, +13), Georgia State (879, +14), ULM (880, +16), Old Dominion (868, +22), App State (895, +25).
Match play begins at 7:30 a.m. CT on Thursday and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ (
semifinals and
championship) and
live scored on Scoreboard.
