NEW ORLEANS – South Alabama’s Jordan Morrison and Samuel Mika have earned recognition as the Sun Belt Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performances over the last week.
Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Jordan Morrison, South Alabama

South Alabama’s Jordan Morrison had an impressive finish for the Jaguars in the 800m at the LSU Bayou Bengal Invitational. Morrison blazed to a first-place finish with a time of 1:54.20, besting his next closest competitor from LSU by six-tenths of a second. His mark is within the top three of the league this year being adjusted to 1:52.59.
Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Samuel Mika, South Alabama

South Alabama’s Samuel Mika had a pair of successful throwing events at the LSU Bayou Bengal Invitational, claiming first place in the shot put with a PR throw of 17.66m/57-11.25 to secure the second-best throw in the South Alabama record books. He also added a fourth-place finish in the weight throw at 18.67m/61-3. He's now recorded first-place finishes in back-to-back weeks after dominating the weight throw a week ago.
