NEW ORLEANS – The seventh week of Sun Belt volleyball action will feature 12 divisional matches. Arkansas State has the chance to secure the regular season crown as all 14 matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
 

• CLINCHING THE CROWN – Three teams enter week seven with aspirations to claim the 2026 Sun Belt Volleyball regular season crown. Arkansas State leads the pack with an 11-1 overall record, as the Red Wolves have won eight straight matches since their lone loss in league play. In the East, App State and Georgia Southern each have a 9-3 overall record and enter the weekend on win streaks as well. Both the Mountaineers and the Eagles are 7-3 in their last ten matches. The Eagles boast a conference-high 10-2 record at home as they host the Panthers in an in-state rivalry matchup. The Mountaineers will host Marshall with a 6-2 showing at home as Arkansas State will head to Louisiana Tech, where the Red Wolves are 6-3 on the year in road matchups.

 

• DECISIVE DIVISIONAL DUALS – The league will play their final divisional matchups this weekend as the battle for seeding continues. In the East, App State will host Marshall as the two teams are a pair of games apart. Marshall enters the matchup with a 6-4 record as App State 8-2. In the West Division, Troy, Louisiana, South Alabama and Southern Miss are within range of making the championship. The Trojans have completed divisional play with an 8-4 record as the Ragin Cajuns and Jaguars enter the weekend with 6-4 marks. The Golden Eagles stand with a 5-5 mark as they host the Jaguars for a series. Louisiana will travel to ULM as the Trojans will travel to Coastal Carolina. Also in the East, James Madison stands with a 4-6 record and hosts Old Dominion as Georgia State travels to Georgia Southern with a 3-7 record.

 

• NATIONAL STAGE – Several teams and individuals have separated themselves at the national level. Troy ranks No. 5 in aces per set at 2.09 as James Madison ranks No. 5 in blocks per set at 2.99. Southern Miss ranks No. 13 in digs per set with 16.55 as they are joined by Georgia Southern (No. 20, 16.19) and Arkansas State (No. 25, 16.06) inside the top 25. App State ranks No. 9 in assists with 1,212 as Louisiana joins them in the top 15 at No. 13 with 1,202. The Mountaineers also rank No. 2 nationally in team kills with 1,352 with the Dukes ranking No. 2 in team total blocks at 257. Individually, Troy’s Kalina Calvillo ranks No. 13 with 0.56 aces per set as James Madison’s Kennedy Louisell ranks No. 18 at 0.55. Louisell also ranks No. 5 in kills per set at 4.94, second in points at 493.5, second in points per set at 5.74 and third in total kills with 425. Louisell is also No. 12 in service aces with 47 as she is joined by App State’s Raegan Richardson (No. 19, 45), and Calvillo (No. 21, 44) inside the top 25. Richardson is also No. 10 nationally with 960 total assists as James Madison’s Ayen Nhial ranks No. 13 with 119 total blocks. App State’s MeMe Davis ranks No. 4 with 506 digs on the year as well.

 

• WINNING WAYS – Seven teams in the league enter the weekend with winning streaks as Arkansas State continues to pace the league with an eight-match streak. Georgia Southern follows behind winning four in a row as South Alabama swept its pair of matches last weekend. App State, James Madison, Louisiana and Louisiana Tech each won the finale of last weekends matchups.
