A seesaw battle for the lead ensued for the next five minutes of game time before six-straight points gave Nebraska an 18-15 lead for the fifth and final lead change of the period, forcing a Trojans timeout with 9:35 to go.

The Cornhuskers got hot from beyond the arc and built a double-digit lead, 30-19, on junior forward Pryce Sandfort’s fifth trey of game at the 5:46 mark. Nebraska widened the margin to as many as 18 points before taking a 41-25 lead into halftime.

Troy scored the first five points of the second half to trim the deficit to 11, but Nebraska raced out on an 11-2 scoring run down to the 14:06 mark to create a 20-point advantage. The Cornhuskers built their largest lead of the game, 70-40, with 6:50 left while holding the Trojans to just six field goals in the second half.
