Coastal Carolina Paces the Field After First Round of Sun Belt Men's Golf Championship

MADISON, Miss. – Coastal Carolina leads the 14-team field after the first round of the 2026 Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship.

The Chanticleers posted a six-under-par (282) to top the leaderboard at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi.

Arkansas State sits in second at four-under (284), two strokes off the lead. Southern Miss holds solo third after an even-par (288), followed by South Alabama in fourth at one-over (289) and James Madison in fifth at two-over (290).

Arkansas State sophomore Jake Wallis leads all players after recording two birdies and an eagle en route to a four-under (68). Benjamin Fernandez of Southern Miss and Sakke Slitala of Texas State are tied for second at three-under (69), while six players are tied for fourth at two-under (70).

The second round of stroke play begins at 8:00 a.m. CT on Tuesday and will be ESPN+ and live stats can be found on Scoreboard.
