INDIANAPOLIS – Just one day removed from its fourth consecutive Sun Belt Conference Tennis Championship, the Old Dominion women’s tennis team learned it will face Tennessee in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Women’s Tennis Team Championship in Durham, N.C. on the campus of Duke on Friday, May 1 at 12 p.m. CT.
The Monarchs join Tennessee, VCU and hosts No. 15 overall seed Duke in the Durham Regional. Following Old Dominion’s match on Saturday, Duke and VCU will play at 3 p.m. CT. The two winners will face on Saturday, May 2 at 3 p.m. CT at the Ambler Tennis Stadium.
The Monarchs head to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 60 ranked team in the nation and earned their seventh straight NCAA Tournament berth with their fourth consecutive Sun Belt title. They will match up with No. 17 nationally ranked Tennessee, who enters the tournament 13-9 overall after a loss to LSU in the Second Round of the SEC Women’s Tennis Championship. The Monarchs boast a 15-10 overall record and have won 12 of their last 13 matches.
