Marshall’s Mikrut & Louisiana Tech’s Lorkowski Secure Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Marshall second-year forward Wiktoria Mikrut and Louisiana Tech first-year goalkeeper Mackenzie Lorkowski have earned Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors following the third week of the 2026 campaign.
 
Mikrut becomes Marshall’s first Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week honoree since Geovanna Souza on Aug. 26, 2025, while Lorkowski is Louisiana Tech’s first Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week in program history.

Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Wiktoria Mikrut, Marshall

Mikrut recorded seven points on the week and scored all three goals in Marshall’s draw at Belmont on Aug. 27 before tallying an assist on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at UT-Martin on Aug. 30. Her hat trick at Belmont was the 10th in the Herd’s program history, as four of her six total shots were on goal.

Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Mackenzie Lorkowski, Louisiana Tech

Lorkowski posted a 2-0 record and registered 21 total saves while allowing just one goal on 43 total shots faced in wins at Houston Christian on Aug. 27 and Stephen F. Austin on Aug. 30. Lorkowski made a career-high 12 saves and earned her first shutout in a 1-0 win over the Huskies before adding nine more saves in a 3-1 victory over the Lumberjacks.
