• The 2018 men’s soccer season saw Georgia State win its first Sun Belt regular-season as tournament titles as a conference member. The conference tournament title was the Panthers’ first since 2000 as a member of the former Trans America Athletic Conference (now ASUN Conference).
 
• The Panthers made their second NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship appearance as a program and their first as a Sun Belt member. Georgia State fell to Charlotte in penalty kicks in the first round.
 
• Three Sun Belt men’s soccer student-athletes earned recognition on the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Teams, as selected by CoSIDA – Coastal Carolina junior defender Henrik Mueller on the first team, Appalachian State senior goalkeeper Jake Chasteen on the second team and Coastal Carolina junior forward Tyrone Mondi on the third team. It marked the fourth-straight season the Sun Belt has had at least one men’s soccer student-athlete following Hartwick’s Jack Miller in 2015, Appalachian State’s Stephen Chapman in 2016 and Georgia Southern’s Emil Laursen in 2017.
 
• The conference boasted seven student-athletes receiving Google Cloud Academic All-District® District 4 first-team honors including Coastal Carolina sophomore midfielder Carlos Becerra, Georgia Southern senior midfielder/forward Javier Carbonell, Georgia State junior defender Kyle Clinton and senior defender Lukas Joyner.
 
• The conference placed five on the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s All-Southeast Region Teams with Clinton, Georgia State senior midfielder Max Hemmings and Coastal Carolina senior forward Yazeed Matthews on the second team and Coastal Carolina senior defender Kervin Fadel and junior forward Tsiki Ntsabeleng on the third team.
 
• Appalachian State freshman forward Camden Holbrook and Georgia State freshman midfielder Logan Luque were named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Freshmen Top 100 postseason list.
 
Georgia Southern senior midfielder/forward Javier Carbonell was named the Sun Belt Co-Player and Co-Offensive Player of the Year to lead the conference’s postseason awards. Carbonell was one of the nation’s top scorers, finishing ranked fourth in goals per game (0.94), fifth in points per game (2.06), tied for fifth in total goals (15), tied for sixth in total points (33) and tied for ninth in shots per game (4.00). He was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Top 100 postseason list.
 
• Also among the national statistical leaders, Matthews finished the season ranked fifth in goals per game (0.87), eighth in points per game (1.93), tied for 10th in total goals and tied for 19th in total points (29), while Howard junior goalkeeper Carlos Caro was ranked 10th in saves per game (5.20).
 
Coastal Carolina senior defender Kervin Fadel was among the initial 60 college players invited to participate in the 2019 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine.
 
• Sun Belt men’s soccer expands to a six-team league in 2019 with the addition of Central Arkansas as an affiliate member. The Bears won their second-straight Missouri Valley Conference Tournament title and fell to Air Force in first round of the NCAA Tournament. Senior midfielder Christopher Holmes joined Mueller on being named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® first team.
