Mobile, Ala. – The No. 3 seed Texas State held a three-run lead heading into the top of the seventh inning before scoring five runs en route to a 9-1 win against No. 4 seed Georgia State in at the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship
Texas State (39-19) advances to its first ever Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship final with the win and will take on No. 1 seed UL Lafayette on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT at Jaguar Field. Georgia State fell to 33-28 on the year.
