Women's Soccer Players of the Week (as selected by the head coaches)

WEEK 5 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kassi Hormuth (Texas State, Junior, Forward)
Kassi Hormuth was involved in three of the four goals that Texas State scored in the opening weekend of Sun Belt Conference play. In the conference opener against Little Rock, she assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Bobcats a 1-0 victory. The junior recorded her second assist of the weekend when Clarissa Leon knocked in the game-tying goal in the first half against Georgia State. Hormuth gave Texas State an insurance goal late in the game when her attempted cross found the upper left inside netting of the goal. The score gave her three points in the match to tie her career-high. For the week, she finished with a goal and two assists for four points as the Bobcats won their first two SBC matches for the third consecutive season.

WEEK 5 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sam Patterson (Coastal Caroina, Senior, Defender)
Senior Sam Patterson played a key role in Coastals’ two shutouts over the weekend to help Coastal to a 2-0 start in conference play. In the defensive mid position, Patterson supported the defensive line in back-to-back shutouts while also adding to the teams’ offense. In game one versus Arkansas State, a cross found the head of Patterson and directed it to Daniella Famili’s feet who cut by her defender to score.

Versus Appalachian State, Patterson headed the ball past Appalachian State goalkeeper Sam Steyl's outstretched hands, placing the ball in the far right corner of the net for a 1-0 lead.
