NEW ORLEANS – Seventeen Sun Belt Conference women’s soccer standouts earned 2025 All-Southeast Region honors as announced by United Soccer Coaches ahead of the NCAA College Cup.
The Sun Belt increased its number of all-region women’s soccer selections for the third straight season - up from 14 honorees in 2024 - and now has 41 honorees in the last three seasons.
South Alabama’s five honorees led the way as one of four Sun Belt programs with multiple selections, followed by Old Dominion with three and Texas State and ULM with two apiece. The Sun Belt placed two on the All-Southeast Region First Team, five on the Second Team, four on the Third Team and six on the Fourth Team.
The 2025 Sun Belt Player of the Year, senior forward Skylar Blaise at ULM, was selected to the First Team along with James Madison sophomore forward Ginny Lackey who was tabbed 2025 Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year. Lackey has now been chosen to the region’s first team in back-to-back years.
Five Sun Belt players repeated as all-region picks, led by App State graduate forward Izzi Wood who was honored for the third consecutive season. In addition to Lackey, Old Dominion junior and two-time Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year Ashlynn Kulha was recognized for the second year in a row. Additional repeat honorees include Georgia State junior forward Aaliyah Faddoul and Texas State junior defender Victoria Meza
The United Soccer Coaches identifies and recognizes the top players in the NCAA. All players are nominated by their respective head coaches, and the teams are voted on by women's soccer head coaches within the region. First Team selections will be eligible for All-America accolades.
