NEW ORLEANS – Just two days removed from its first Sun Belt Conference championship, the Texas State women’s soccer team learned it will face No. 5 seed Baylor in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship at Betty Lou Mays Field in Waco, Texas on Friday, November 14 at 7 p.m. CT.
The Bobcats (10-3-7) will make their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance all-time and first since 2011 after earning the Sun Belt’s automatic bid with a 1-0 victory over ULM in the conference’s championship match Saturday evening in Foley, Ala.
Texas State’s first-round contest will be a rematch of a regular season match against Baylor (12-4-4) out of the Big 12 Conference. The team’s met on Sept. 7 when the Bears escaped San Marcos, Texas with a 4-1 victory with the help of three second-half scores.
The winner between the Bobcats and Bears will advance to face the winner between the region’s No. 4 seed Wisconsin (13-5-2) from the Big Ten Conference and Mid-American Conference champion Western Michigan (16-3-1).
First round matches will be played Nov. 14-16, while the second and third rounds will be held Nov. 20 and 23, followed by the quarterfinals Nov. 28-29.
The 44th annual NCAA Women’s College Cup will be played at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., with semifinal matches on Dec. 5 and the national championship match on Dec. 8.
