2019 Men’s Soccer Postseason Awards Announced

NEW ORLEANS – The 2019 regular season closed with the Sun Belt Conference men’s soccer postseason honors unveiled on Tuesday.

Top honors went to Central Arkansas senior forward Niklas Brodacki (Player of the Year) and head coach Ross Duncan (Coach of the Year), Georgia State junior forward Aris Briggs (Offensive Player of the Year), Appalachian State junior defender Zeiko Harris (Defensive Player of the Year), Coastal Carolina freshman forward Sam Snaith (Freshman of the Year) and Georgia Southern senior forward/midfielder Azaad Liadi (Newcomer of the Year).

Brodacki, Briggs and Harris on the first team and Liadi on the second team also received All-Sun Belt recognition.

Brodacki enters the postseason as the NCAA Division I active leader in career goals (50) and points (108). His 11 goals this season are second in the Sun Belt and tied for 21st nationally. Brodacki's consistent performance leading the Bears' attack was key to Duncan guiding Central Arkansas to the Sun Belt regular-season title in the program's first season in the conference.

Briggs boasts being one of the season's most productive scorers, ranking ninth nationally in goals per game (0.82). His goals per game and 14 goals lead the Sun Belt. He has a league-best five multi-goal performances and is one of just four players in the conference to score three or more goals in a match this fall.

Harris has been the anchor of the Appalachian State defense all season, starting in 15 matches. His defensive effort has sparked the Mountaineers to claim a conference-best seven shutouts. Harris has contributed on offense as well, scoring two goals, including the game-winner in the victory over George Mason on Sept. 6.

Snaith is having a huge impact on the Chanticleers as a true freshman. He is tied for the team-lead in goals (6) to go along with one assist. During the regular season, Snaith played in all 17 matches with seven starts.

Liadi has been a stellar addition to the Georgia Southern lineup, leading the Eagles in shots on goal (15) and placing second in shots (30). He has connected on three goals and added one assist. He scored the game-winning goal in the win over Appalachian State on Nov. 2.

Central Arkansas led in All-Sun Belt selections with eight, including three on the first team.
