STATESBORO., Ga. – Georgia Southern opened the 2019 campaign Friday in impressive fashion, downing UT Martin 6-4 and Saint Francis (Pa.) 6-5, on the first day of the Bash in the Boro at Eagle Field. The Eagles were the only one of five teams participating to go 2-0 on the day.

HONOLULU – After facing the No. 1 team in the nation, UCLA, and a club receiving votes in the national polls, Fresno State, on its season-opening day Thursday, UTA (1-3) picked up its first victory of the year Friday by run-ruling Saint Mary's (Calif.), 8-0, before falling in the nightcap to host Hawaii on a walk-off, 8-7.
