CONWAY, S.C. – Texas State (22-17, 10-5 Sun Belt) clipped Coastal Carolina (29-12, 9-7 Sun Belt) in Game 1 of the weekend series at St. John Stadium on Friday evening by a score of 5-3.
South Alabama 14, Georgia State 8
DECATUR, Ga. – South Alabama tied a season-high in runs with 14, pounded out a season-best 16 hits, and six players recorded multiple hits as the Jaguars took game one of the series with a 14-8 win over Georgia State Friday evening at the Robert E. Heck Softball Complex.
Troy at Georgia Southern
STATESBORO, Ga. – Friday night's Sun Belt Conference series opener between Georgia Southern and Troy was suspended in the seventh inning due to lightning. Troy led, 6-1, with Georgia Southern at bat with one out and a runner on first base. The revised schedule for this weekend's series begins at Noon on Saturday with completion of the suspended contest. The two teams will then play Game 2 of their series immediately following the conclusion of game one. Game 3, originally scheduled for Sunday at Noon, will then follow Game 2 as soon as possible on Saturday due to growing weather concerns for Sunday in Statesboro.

BOONE, N.C. – 10th-ranked Louisiana loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh inning of a scoreless contest and wound up pushing across the winning runs in a 3-1 triumph over Appalachian State on Friday at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium.

ARLINGTON, Texas – A wild night ensued at Allan Saxe Field as UTA completed a six-run seventh inning to force extra innings, before winning in the ninth with a Bri Burchianti walk-off hit, 8-7. The Mavericks are now 19-22 overall and 7-9 in the Sun Belt.
