CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Appalachian State (30-17, 12-8 Sun Belt) won game one and lost game two of the doubleheader against Western Carolina (18-27) on Tuesday. The Mountaineers scored eight runs on 10 hits in the 8-2 game one win but fell short in the seventh inning of game two, losing 2-3. With the win, Appalachian State reached 30 wins for the second time in program history. The only other time the Mountaineers have had a 30-win season was 2013 (31-22).

Coastal Carolina 1, College of Charleston 0
CHARLESTON, S.C. – In their shortest game of the season at an hour and 45 minutes, Coastal Carolina (33-15, 11-10 Sun Belt) picked up a 1-0 win on Tuesday afternoon at Patriot Point against the College of Charleston (21-26) in non-conference action.
 
Houston 4, Texas State 3
SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State (25-20, 13-7 Sun Belt) fell victim to a comeback effort against Houston (32-15) on Tuesday evening at Bobcat Softball Stadium. The Bobcats held a 3-1 lead heading into the top of the seventh inning but could not hold on for the win. UH stormed back to win 4-3.

LSU 8, ULM 0
BATON ROUGE, La. – A five-run fifth inning by the 10th-ranked LSU proved to be the difference as the Tigers posted an 8-0 victory over visiting ULM in five innings on Tuesday night at Tiger Park.
