NEW ORLEANS – South Alabama women's tennis senior Patricia Martins was named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, as selected by CoSIDA.

Martins is the third South Alabama women's tennis student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, but first since Viktoria Stoklasova in 2003.

This season Martins went 14-3 in singles at the bottom two spots in the lineup, and 14-5 in doubles to lead the Jaguars to their 18th Sun Belt Conference title and 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

The Lisbon, Portugal, native won her first 11 singles matches of the season – all but one in straight sets – and tied for sixth in the Sun Belt in overall win percentage (.824) and at No. 6 win percentage (.846). Her overall doubles win percentage (.636) is good for fourth in the league.

The 2017 All-Sun Belt second-team honoree ranks seventh at South Alabama in career win percentage at No. 1 doubles (.744) and eighth in No. 1 doubles wins (29).
