NEW ORLEANS – One day after winning its third straight Sun Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Championship, the No. 46 nationally ranked Old Dominion Monarchs received their matchup for the 2025 NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament during the NCAA Selection Show.
Old Dominion will challenge No. 28 Florida Atlantic in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Monarchs travel to Durham, North Carolina on Friday with Duke hosting the region as an eight seed. ODU takes on the Owls at 1 p.m. The Blue Devils compete against Bryant at 4 p.m.
Old Dominion is coming off its fifth consecutive conference championship, where the team bested Marshall 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Monarchs are 19-4 overall, which included two wins over autonomy opponents, a ranked win against Princeton, and two different seven-game win streaks. They are led by two-time Sun Belt Player of the Year Sofia Johnson who is ranked No. 24 nationally.
The Monarchs are one of 25 teams making its sixth-straight NCAA tournament appearance.
