App State’s Dada-Mascoll & South Alabama’s Elakili and Ennaciri Earn Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – App State’s Savannah Dada-Mascoll and South Alabama’s Kenza Elakili and Manal Ennaciri earn Sun Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Players of the Week honors after successful weeks on the court.

Savannah Dada-Mascoll, App State

In her lone match of the week, App State’s Savannah Dada-Mascoll defeated her opponent from Virginia Tech in a matchup featuring a pair of All-Americans. Dada-Mascoll won the first set 6-3, before falling in the second. Tied 5-5 in the third set, the senior Mountaineer won back-to-back consecutive frames to secure the 7-5 win on court one.

Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Kenza Elakili / Manal Ennaciri, South Alabama

The South Alabama duo of Kenza Elakili and Manal Ennaciri won their lone match of the week to secure the doubles point for the Jaguars against Southern University. The pair were dominant in the season opener by a 6-1 margin, which led the team to a 7-0 win to start the year. The team victory marked the Jaguars’ fifth consecutive season-opening victory and extended their home winning streak to 28.
