NEW ORLEANS — Seeds and matchups for the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship were announced Saturday evening following the conclusion of the regular season. 
 
The Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship will take place from May 10-14 at Jaguar Field on the campus of South Alabama in Mobile, Ala., with all 10 teams competing.
 
Louisiana (41-11, 23-4 SBC) concluded the regular season on a nine-game winning streak, securing its third-straight and 18th all-time Sun Belt regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the tournament. 
 
No. 2 seed South Alabama, No. 3 seed Texas State, No. 4 seed Troy, No. 5 seed UTA and No. 6 seed App State also earned byes into the eight-team double-elimination portion of the championship bracket. 
 
A pair of single-elimination games between No. 10 seed Georgia Southern and No. 7 seed Georgia State and No. 9 seed Coastal Carolina and No. 8 seed ULM will open tournament play on Tuesday, May 10. 
 
All 16 tournament games will be nationally broadcast on ESPN+, concluding with the championship game at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 14.
