NEW ORLEANS – Ticket packages for the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship will go on sale on Monday, March 27 at 10 a.m. CT. The 10-team tournament will be held at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park in Lafayette, Louisiana from Wednesday, May 10, to Saturday, May 13.
Ticket booklets to all sessions at Lamson Park will be available through the Lamson Park Box Office or through
Ticketmaster, with prices starting at $60. Additional fees may apply.
The single-elimination tournament will begin on Wednesday, May 10 with a pair of first round matchups, followed by four quarterfinal games on Thursday, May 11 and two semifinal contests on Friday, May 12. The championship game is slated to begin at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 13, and will determine the Sun Belt Conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
The Sun Belt Conference currently boasts the No. 6 RPI in the nation – trailing only the Pac-12, SEC, Big 12, ACC, and Big Ten – and has seven teams featured in the top-100 of the RPI heading into the second weekend of league action.
Louisiana, the Sun Belt Conference preseason favorite, is coming off its 23
rd consecutive 40-win season and NCAA tournament appearance. The Ragin’ Cajuns are the three-time defending Sun Belt regular season and tournament champions and currently rank No. 23 in the ESPN / USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 with wins over a conference-best three top-10 opponents (No. 25 UCF, No. 14 LSU, and No. 12 Florida).
