NEW ORLEANS – Marshall's Taimu Okiyoshi and Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos, along with West Virginia's Sergio Ors Navarrio and Max Broughton have been named 2024 All-American’s by United Soccer Coaches.
Among the 34 players receiving All-American recognition, two Sun Belt student-athletes are earning the second All-America honors of their careers: Marshall senior midfielder Okiyoshi and senior forward Rodrigues dos Santos.
Rodrigues Dos Santos and Ors Navarro were named All-American first team, while Okiyoshi and Broughton earned All-American second team.
Rodrigues dos Santos was an All-Sun Belt first team selection and an All-Sun Belt tournament team selection. He has 15 goals and five assists for a total of 35 points on the season. The senior has tallied five goals through the first three games of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, averaging four points a game. Okiyoshi is the lone player on the Herd roster to start all 22 regular season matches and earned All-Sun Belt first team honors.
Marshall is set to play in their second national championship in four years, after winning in 2020.
Ors Navarro was the Sun Belt Player and Offensive Player of the Year after scoring 15 goals and 34 total points. The Castellon native led the Sun Belt and was fourth in the nation in goals while finishing fifth in the country in points. He was also named the Sun Belt Tournament Most Valuable Performer and was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team.
Broughton led all Mountaineer field players with 1,874 minutes played this season. The All-Sun Belt first team selection anchored a back line that produced 10 shutouts and allowed just 3.04 shots on goal per game while also contributing with an assist on the offensive end of the field.
