HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – For the second year in a row, top-seeded Georgia State and third-seeded Coastal Carolina each won a pair of matches on Thursday and have punched their tickets to the semifinal round of the 2024 Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship at John Hunt Park in Hunstville, Ala.
 
Georgia State swept No. 8 seed Stephen F. Austin, 5-0, in the first round before topping No. 5 seed Mercer, 4-1, in the second round. Coastal Carolina defeated No. 6 seed Southern Miss, 5-0, before outlasting No. 2 seed UNCW, 3-2. The Panthers and Chanticleers will meet at 3 p.m. CT Friday.
 
Mercer got the day started with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over No. 4 seed College of Charleston to record the program’s first Sun Belt Championship win. UNCW topped No. 7 seed ULM, 4-1, in its first round contest.
 
The Sun Belt Conference Championship features a double-elimination format and the loser’s bracket will begin on Friday at 9 a.m. CT. All of Friday’s matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
