FOLEY, Ala. — Georgia State won its fourth-straight Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 sweep of Coastal Carolina on Saturday at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala.
The Panthers ran their unbeaten record to 16-0 in Sun Belt tournament matches since the conference began sponsoring the sport in 2023.
No. 2-seeded Georgia State earned straight-sets victories at the No. 4, No. 2 and No. 5 flights to secure the 3-0 sweep of the top-seeded Chanticleers.
The Panthers No. 4 tandem of sophomore Kealy Dirner and sophomore Ella Mozeleski posted a fourth-straight straight-sets win in the championship match—25-23, 21-14—to secure the Pair of the Tournament nod. The No. 5 pairing of redshirt junior Kaylie Drysdale and junior Ellie Neville delivered the Georgia State clincher with a 21-19, 21-15 win, completing a 4-0 tournament run en route to All-Tournament Team accolades.
In Saturday’s semifinal, No. 1 seed Coastal Carolina took down No. 4 seed UNCW, 3-1, for its second victory over the Seahawks of the tournament, earning the championship match date with the Panthers for the third time in four seasons.
