FOLEY, Ala. – Three-time defending tournament champion and No. 2-seeded Georgia State punched its ticket to the championship final, while top-seeded Coastal Carolina and No. 4-seeded UNCW remain in contention following Friday action at the 2026 Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala. 
 
The Chanticleers and Seahawks will face off at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday for the right to challenge Georgia State in the championship match at 1 p.m. CT. This marks the third-straight season that Coastal Carolina, Georgia State and UNCW have advanced to Saturday play at the Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship. 
 
No. 2 seed Georgia State defeated No. 1 seed Coastal Carolina in the winner’s bracket semifinal behind a trio of straight-sets victories at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 flights to remain unbeaten all-time at the Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship and reach the championship match for the fourth-straight season. 
 
In the loser’s bracket, No. 7 seed Mercer posted the championship’s first upset in the Friday opener. The Bears took down No. 6 seed ULM, 3-2, via a come-from-behind three-set clincher at the No. 5 flight. 

No. 3 seed Southern Miss and No. 4 seed UNCW then recorded 5-0 sweeps of No. 5 seed College of Charleston and No. 7 seed Mercer, respectively, to stave off elimination. 
 
In Friday’s finale, the No. 4-seeded Seahawks prevailed, 4-1, over the No. 3-seeded Golden Eagles to advance to Saturday play for the third-straight season. UNCW used a trio of straight-sets wins at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 flights to clinch the match, before tacking on a three-set victory at the No. 5 flight.
