NEW ORLEANS – After standout performances in Sun Belt series victories, Marshall’s Bella Gerlach and South Alabama’s Olivia Lackie secured the conference’s weekly accolades, presented by BankPlus.

Bella Gerlach went 8-for-12 (.667) with four home runs and 11 RBI in Marshall's road sweep of Georgia State over the weekend. Gerlach's fourth homer of the weekend - and Sun Belt Conference-leading 13th - was her biggest. The sophomore transfer hit a three-run opposite-field shot to turn an 8-6 deficit into a 9-8 lead, it was Gerlach's second go-ahead home run in the 7th inning or later this season when the team was trailing. The sophomore outfielder’s two home runs on Friday marked her third multi-HR game of the season, and her four hits on Saturday set a new career-high.

Olivia Lackie played a part in all three Sun Belt road wins over the weekend as the Jaguars picked up a series sweep at App State and extended their win streak to four games. Lackie appeared in all three games against the Mountaineers as she won a pair of games and picked up her first save of the spring. In her 16.0 innings of work, the Walker, La., native allowed just one earned run – a two-out solo home run – and scattered 11 hits and struck out 14. In game one of the series on Saturday, Lackie allowed just four hits and struck out seven in the win. In Sunday’s doubleheader sweep, Lackie came up huge once again as she earned the save in game one with two scoreless innings of relief and then tossed a complete game in the series finale, scattering six hits and allowing just one run. In the series finale, Lackie completed the sweep and moved into sole possession of second place in career wins as she earned the 70th of her career.
