NEW ORLEANS – Texas State’s Henok Hagos and Alexia Macias each recorded the fastest team times in their respective races to claim Sun Belt Cross Country Runners of the Week honors.
Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Henok Hagos, Texas State

In his sophomore season debut, Texas State’s Henok Hagos delivered an impressive performance at the DBU Old Glory Gallup, placing fifth in the men’s 8K with a time of 24:09.92. Competing against nearly 400 runners from about 50 schools, Hagos led all Bobcats by nearly 30 seconds.
Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Alexia Macias, Texas State

Texas State junior Alexia Macias claimed first place at the DBU Old Glory Gallup in the women's 5K with a personal-best time of 17:17.57, shattering her previous record by nearly 30 seconds set at the UIW Invitational. Nearly 400 runners from 50 schools lined up for the women’s 5K at the Old Glory Gallup. Macias has now captured two individual titles this season and placed fourth at the Bobcats' previous meet, the UIW Invitational.
