NEW ORLEANS – Sun Belt East Division champion and No. 21/22-ranked James Madison will host the 2025 Credit Union 1 Sun Belt Football Championship presented by Visit Pensacola in Harrisonburg, Va., at 7:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, Dec. 5, against the Sun Belt West Division champion.
The game will once again be nationally televised on ESPN, which has been the broadcast home for the Sun Belt Football Championship since the event’s inception in 2018.
The nationally-ranked Dukes, who will appear in their first-ever Sun Belt Football Championship, are riding a nine-game winning streak heading into next weekend’s regular-season finale at Coastal Carolina at 3:45 p.m. ET/2:45 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 29, on ESPNU. With a win over the Chanticleers, the Dukes can complete just the third unblemished run through the Sun Belt regular season during the championship game era, joining Coastal Carolina in 2020 and Louisiana in 2021.
James Madison will be the fifth different school to host the Sun Belt Football Championship and the sixth different program to compete in the game. The Dukes will snap a four-year string of West Division championship game hosts—Louisiana in 2021 and 2024 and Troy in 2022 and 2023.
James Madison season-ticket holders can
