NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion’s Dylan Brown and Troy’s Sean Darnell earn Sun Belt baseball weekly honors, presented by BankPlus, after leading their teams to weekend series victories. 
 
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Dylan Brown, Old Dominion
(Jr., LHP – Lansdale, Pa.)  
 
Monarchs junior left-handed pitcher Dylan Brown tossed 8.0 scoreless innings for Old Dominion in a 4-2 win over Charlotte to secure the team’s first victory of 2025. The Lansdale, Pa., native accumulated a career-best 13 strikeouts, while scattering two hits and two walks. Brown retired 16 batters in a row, including striking out the side in the fourth inning. His 23 strikeouts pace the Sun Belt and rank second in the country, while he also leads the conference and ranks 26^th nationally with 15.92 strikeouts per nine innings. 
 
Baseball Player of the Week
Sean Darnell, Troy
(Jr., INF – Wetumpka. Ala.)   
 
Trojans junior infielder Sean Darnell hit .533 (8-for-15) and slugged .733, as Troy went 3-1 on the week to improve to 6-1 on the season. The Wetumpka, Ala., product tallied nine runs scored and seven RBI, with a three-run home run. Over the final two games of the Trojans weekend sweep of Northwestern State, Darnell hit .777 (7-for-9) with seven runs scored and seven RBI, as Troy posted 14 runs in both victories. He is the lone Sun Belt student-athlete with a five-hit game this season.
