NEW ORLEANS – James Madison redshirt sophomore utility player Payton List and Coastal Carolina senior pitcher Nicolette Picone earned Sun Belt Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week honors, presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs, following the fifth week of the 2025 regular season.
 
List is James Madison’s first Player of the Week honoree this year, while Picone is the first Coastal Carolina hurler to earn multiple Pitcher of the Week honors in the same year since Kaitlin Beasley-Polko during the 2019 campaign.

James Madison had an impressive showing at the Lakeside Book Company Tournament. In the five games in Harrisonburg, Va., List compiled a .625 batting average (10-for-16), with four home runs, a double, nine RBI and 10 runs scored. Including her appearance against Liberty on March 4, List is batting .579 and has a slugging percentage of 1.263. She leads the Dukes in batting average (.421), slugging percentage (.860), runs scored (16), hits (24), runs batted in (16), and home runs (7). Her four-RBI showing against Fordham was a career-high and her three runs scored against Radford also tied her career-high. In the circle, the redshirt sophomore made two appearances (Radford and Binghamton) and totaled 5.2 innings pitched, allowing two earned runs while fanning five. 

Pitcher of the Week
Nicolette Picone, Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina’s Nicolette Picone had another pair of undefeated showings in the circle going 4-0 with a save. The senior recorded 19 strikeouts and posted a 0.38 ERA while giving up just one run over 18.2 innings of work in the circle. Picone pitched two complete games on the week, including a complete-game shutout versus UNCG. During Coastal’s three-game series versus South Dakota, she recorded 13 strikeouts and did not allow a single run during her 12.2 innings of work.
