NEW ORLEANS – A week after winning its third consecutive Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Championship, Old Dominion will face off against Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the NCAA announced Monday.
The No. 55 nationally ranked Monarchs will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Friday for their match at 2 p.m. against the No. 32 nationally ranked Wildcats. Wake Forest hosts the region as the one seed. The Demon Deacons will compete against Gardner-Webb at 5 p.m.
Old Dominion will return to the court after a week off following the team earning its third straight Sun Belt Conference championship last Sunday. ODU went 14-8 in the regular season and were undefeated in the SBC and is on a seven-match winning streak.
The Monarchs are led by Sun Belt Player of the Year Cosme Rolland de Ravel.
