NEW ORLEANS — Seeding, matchups and game times for the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship have been announced following the conclusion of the league’s regular season schedule Saturday evening.
 
The tournament will take place May 7-10 at the Troy University Softball Complex in Troy, Ala. with 10 teams competing in the single-elimination draw. The championship game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 at 2:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 10, and all nine tournament games will be available on ESPN+.
 
Reigning Sun Belt tournament champion Texas State (34-18, 16-8 SBC) completed a three-game road series sweep at ULM during the final weekend of conference play to earn its second outright Sun Belt regular championship in program history and the first since 2018. The Bobcats will be the No. 1 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
 
Marshall (31-22, 15-9 SBC) secured the No. 2 seed in the tournament with a home series sweep of Georgia State on the final weekend. The Herd are followed by No. 3 seed Louisiana and No. 4 seed ULM.
 
A tiebreaker determined seeds five through seven with identical 13-11 records against Sun Belt opponents, led by No. 5 Georgia Southern (29-24), No. 6 App State (23-26) and No. 7 Coastal Carolina (37-17).
 
The top six seeds receive byes to the Sun Belt Championship quarterfinal round.
 
Coastal Carolina will face No. 10 seed Southern Miss (23-28, 10-13 SBC) in the first round on Wednesday, May 7 at 4 p.m. CT before No. 8 seed and host Troy (33-23, 12-12 SBC) takes on No. 9 seed James Madison (25-25, 11-13 SBC).

Four programs have earned the Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship title since the tournament’s inception. Louisiana holds 18 all-time tournament championships, followed by South Alabama with three, Texas State with two and former member Florida Atlantic with one. 
 
Tickets can be purchased through the Troy Athletics Ticket Office. All-session tickets can be purchased for $40 for adults and $20 for youths 12 and under. Tickets for individual days are $15 for adults and $10 for youths. Additional fees may apply.
