Coastal Carolina’s Groves and Laughlin Earn Sun Belt Cross Country Runners of the Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Coastal Carolina’s Adam Groves and Addison Laughlin each recorded the fastest team times in their respective races to claim Sun Belt Cross Country Runners of the Week honors. 
 
Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Adam Groves, Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina junior Adam Groves won his second race of the season in the Chanticleer Challenge men's 8k with a time of 23:28.27, the fastest 8k in Chanticleer Challenge history and the third-quickest 8k event in school history. Groves repeated his title after winning the Chanticleer Challenge last year, and has now won both events this year after capturing the Elon Opener title in the men's 6k.
 
Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Addison Laughlin, Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina junior Addison Laughlin ran the Chanticleer Challenge women's 5k in a time of 17:41.74, setting a new personal-best and the sixth-best mark ever in the Chanticleer Challenge 5k and finished fifth overall in the event. Laughlin improved on her winning time from last year by 50 seconds in the event.
